The Impossible Abortion

The Impossible Abortion

By Michael Moriarty

The Union of Socialist Federations -- a congregation of 300+ members of the United Nations -- has utterly decimated all conservative efforts to participate in substantive legislation, or rise higher than Parliamentary and Congressional back-benches. The Reform-Progressive-Conservative-Alliance of World Tories and Republicans is in utter tail-eating disarray.

American liberals are eagerly observing the Bush administration's efforts to withstand the effects of political cyanide, to survive the poison pill fed to them by the Clinton administration. Should President George W. Bush leave office as the second Herbert Hoover, the conservative coffin will not only be shut, but its lid nailed down for many years to come.

Meanwhile, in Canada, Prime Minister Jean Chrétien's defeat of the right-wing Canadian Alliance (in the November 2000 national elections) surpasses even the Alamo. True to conservative form north of the 49th parallel, the Alliance's desperately small band of cowboy dreamers are shooting each other down rather than gunning for the triumphant Liberals – Canada’s ‘Natural Governing Party.’

The triumph of Federal Socialism is so complete that what battling remains is not so much a mop-up operation as a quick once-over with a dust-buster. What faces liberals now is an impossible abortion.

Being only 50 per cent Marxist is like being 50 per cent pregnant. The beast will indeed be born and there's no French abortion pill for that. The communist Red Dragon that liberals befriended, exploited and used as a horse to ride into power on, will soon teach their presumptuous jockeys a few lessons in ‘Realpolitik’. Beneath former President Bill Clinton’s Tom-Sawyer-like face and winning demeanor sits the terrifying Red Dragon, whose intermittent and fiery exhalations only he and his liberal brethren seem able to control.

Now that the conservative opposition is either routed or surrounded in the Oval Office, Clinton and his "reform" arm of admirers are going to attempt a "get tough" policy with the hard-liners in their now not-so-cozy Union of Socialist Federations.

Chrétien -- no "nervous Nellie" he -- was the first Liberal to throw a glove across the face of Cuba’s perennial dictator Fidel Castro by not inviting him to Canada's recent soiree for Latin America (the Summit of the Americas in Quebec City). Not a good idea. Even Clinton would have told Chrétien that.

Elian Gonzales, at the President's command, was returned to Castro so fast that the seawater he had braved to reach freedom was still pouring from his eyes. The old grey fox of Havana, as Clinton and the entire Kennedy family realize, is not one for Liberals to castigate, let alone exclude from a meeting that represents the hearts and minds of a continent Castro is worshipped in.

Democratic Socialism, in a landmass the size of North America, is a contradiction in terms. As one billion Chinese have learned, their People’s Republic of China must, in reality, be a federation. If China were a true republic, the Dalai Lama would be in Tibet and Christians could be worshipping freely. Castro, Kim Jong Il of North Korea, and Jiang Zemin and Zhu Rongji of Red China all know this.

It's the liberals who will pay the greatest price for their hypocritical use of communists. The liberals’ delusion is that there's a real difference between communism and a socialist federation under martial law.

Tiresias-like, I predict there will be a bloody civil war within the Union of Socialist Federations. Liberals deserve their fearful comeuppance, after so flagrantly playing both sides against the middle. One is reminded of the fate of Wayne Gale, the liberal careerist newsman portrayed by Robert Downey, Jr., in Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers, who thinks he can ‘ride the dragon’ – hitching his star to the psychotic serial killer Mickey Knox, played by Woody Harrelson.

Knox, of course, eventually turns on Gale. Similarly, for communists, it's open season on liberal hypocrites.

A complete Socialist Federation of North America cannot be achieved, let alone maintained, without the use of tyranny. For we conservatives, it appears inevitable that the Clinton family's pre-ordained return to power (via Senator Hilary Clinton’s election to the presidency in 2004) will force the American Democratic Party to face the very communists that Bill Clinton refused to confront in Vietnam.

The liberals of the world have successfully instituted CNN boss Ted Turner's famous orders: "Lead, follow or get out of the way!"

Conservatives cannot possibly follow, so we plan to stay as far away from the impossible abortion as we can. Let’s face it: We conservatives are hamstrung, emasculated and without any fighting resources, aside from telling the truth about the ghastly scenario that will soon be played out.
